In this workshop you will learn how to set up an organic indigo dye vat using easily accessible natural ingredients.
We will take the mystique out of working with indigo by using a simple step by step process that you will be able to easily replicate at home. You will also learn how to successfully dye with indigo. We will then explore a number of techniques which you can use with the indigo vat to create beautiful designs on your fabric, including Shibori, making and using resist pastes and more.
Most materials will be supplied and a full Materials List will be forwarded to you on enrolment.
Tutor: Jo Kinross is a Nelson based textile artist specialising in sustainable fibre arts using natural fibres and plant based dyes.
